We stand by you

We were founded in 1975 in the wake of a crisis for doctors in California. The well-known insurance companies were leaving the state—leaving doctors to fend for themselves. We took the risk and stepped in to help. Our mission was to protect physicians against malpractice claims. Our commitment to helping doctors has never changed.

A strong track record.

Almost 90% of claims against our policyholders are closed without Indemnification payment. Over 80% of the cases we take to trial result in defense verdicts. Here are some reasons why:

Local, knowledgeable staff.

With claims offices in California, Idaho, and Hawaii, we are able to provide prompt, convenient service to our policyholders. We understand the local issues that can affect your practice and can provide advice and guidance through the complexities of a claim or lawsuit. Plus, our claims staff is highly experienced; most have been handling medical professional liability claims for over ten years.

Experienced defense attorneys.

We only select highly qualified attorneys who specialize in medical professional liability defense. They are highly skilled litigators whose depth of medical-legal knowledge is second to none. We have long standing relationships with defense counsel; we have worked with many of these firms for decades.
